Jesus the Redeemer

Jesus the Redeemer 1

By God Through Jesus Christ we are saved.

Giving life to others, it is love, dying so that others have the opportunity to live, it is love
For the opportunity to inherit eternal life, Jesus was crucified and died in the time of Pontius Pilate. Go through pain and suffering voluntarily, so that others have life.

The law of EYE by EYE

First of all. Jesus’ coming to the world was to replace the iron hand that Moses had implanted, by an unequivocal behavior of man towards God. that the man was severe and disobedient.
He reconciles man with that image that he had formed of God, who only observed us to punish us. And the behavior of man towards man. an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.

The “eye for an eye” law was part of the laws that God gave to the Israelites through Moses. Too. According to this law, the punishment imposed on an offender had to be proportional to the mistake he had made.

Deuteronomy 19:21 Bible
21 And you will have no mercy: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount teaches about Hate

Matthew 5: 38-48
You’ve heard it said, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” But now I tell you: don’t oppose a bad person. Better, if someone slaps you on the right cheek, let them hit you on the other too. If someone tries to take your shirt off, also give them your cape. If someone forces you to walk a kilometer, go with him and walk two kilometers. To anyone who asks you for something, give it to them; And whoever asks you to borrow something, you lend it.

Love your enemies

You have also heard it said: “Love your fellow men, but hate your enemies.” But I tell you to love your enemies and ask in your prayers for those who persecute you. In this way, they will be children of your Father who is in heaven. It makes the sun rise for both the bad and the good, and the rain falls for both the just and the unjust. If you only love those who love you, do you think you deserve any reward for that? Even tax collectors love their friends. And if you are just good people with your friends, do you think they are doing something out of the ordinary? Even those who don’t know God are like that. Therefore, be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

What Jesus teaches us is that man should not take justice into his hands, should not claim to be God and judge as the ancients did.

“If a man lying with a married woman is surprised, both will die: the man who slept with the woman and also the woman. Thus you will make the evil of Israel disappear ”(Dt. 22, 22).
“If a young virgin is promised to a man and another man finds her in the city and sleeps with her, you will take them both to the door of that city and stone them until they die” (Dt. 22, 23).
“You will stone them until they die. To the young woman for not having asked for help in the city, and to the man for having raped his neighbor’s wife ”(Dt. 22, 24).

Jesus teaches us not to judge:

Bible John 7: 53-8: 11
 The adulterous woman
 53 Each one went home;
8 and Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 And in the morning he returned to the temple, and all the people came to him; and sitting down he taught them.
3 Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought him a woman caught in adultery; and putting it in the middle,
4 said to him: Master, this woman has been caught in the same act of adultery.
5 And in the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So, what do you say?
6 But they said this, tempting him to accuse him. But Jesus, bent towards the ground, wrote on the ground with his finger.
7 And when they insisted on asking him, he straightened up and said to them: He who has no sin among you, let him first throw the stone at him.
8 And bowing again to the ground, he continued to write on the ground.
9 But when they heard this, accused by their conscience, they went out one by one, starting from the oldest to the last; and there was only Jesus, and the woman who was in the middle.
10 Jesus straightened up and, seeing no one but the woman, said to him, “Woman, where are those who accused you? No one condemned you?
11 She said: None, Lord. Then Jesus said to him: “I do not condemn you either; go and sin no more.

Jesus teaches us to reconcile with God

What Jesus really teaches us.
A path full of wisdom and love, a path as beautiful as the reward at the end.
And we don’t want to suggest that the way Moses led the people of Israel at the time was wrong. Each thing has its moment in God’s time.
His death and resurrection are the cause of his love for humanity.
Jesus redeems – rescues, liberates, saves – all humanity, all men in history without distinction.
And the redemption that Jesus Christ obtained for us has the character of eternity, it is perpetual and final.

So, it is worth asking, what did Jesus save us from?

Christians use the expression “redemption” to indicate what Jesus did for us: redeemed or rescued human beings from slavery to sin.

How do we save ourselves from sin?

We are saved from original sin. Eternal death. Eternal death is given to us by original sin, disobedience. Life is the means to find Jesus and follow his example.
So sin is the antonym of loving God and neighbor. It is not an easy task, when it is precisely from the latter, from whom we receive disappointments, injuries, insults, etc. Jesus saved us from sin, because with his life he showed us the way of forgiveness, love, humility and reconciliation. . . Whoever says that he loves God and does not love his neighbor is a liar.
Then, Jesus saves us from living a life full of hatred, rancor, revenge, from spending our days destroying society looking for the evil that did us wrong. If we pay violence with violence, then death will have won. Read here: only the unforgivable is forgiven
When Jesus saved us from separation from God, he reconciled us with love, peace, mercy, grace, hope. This brings abundant life. Yes, God wants us to live his life, not that we are “living dead”. This has a lot to do with the next point.
Jesus washed us from hatred and death.

JESUS came into the world as a man.
Really didn’t die
Everything lives in it forever
I will not fall again, he is my strength
There’s only one way and it’s him
Then i will always live
Death will never touch me again!
