Also the kingdom of heaven is similar to a merchant looking for good pearls, who having found a precious pearl, went and sold everything he had, and bought it.

The Kingdom of Heaven is Similar to:

a phrase that Jesus used a lot to start his teachings.

The merchant searches for a precious pearl, searching implies investing time and money, to find what he knows he is looking for. The merchant finds a precise pearl, that pearl costs everything he has. He does not hesitate to sell everything he has to buy that pearl.
Since he is a merchant, he is a business specialist. He knows that this pearl is worth everything he has, he knows that this pearl is going to yield much more than what he is investing.

Who is the Merchant ?.

The merchant is us. We seek and we seek, but what do we seek? We seek the truth among so much lies. We struggle to find it, we are not born completely sure of who we are and where we are going. We have to look for it, all the time, it costs us sacrifice, it costs us time, it costs us wars with ourselves. But when we find her we know it’s her. And what is that truth. The truth is Christ.

John 14: 6
Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.
